What happened in the 'Sumgait Jews' religious community is a blow to the religious freedom of our country

We live in an Islamic country. I do not believe that in a Muslim country, if someone goes to one of the functioning mosques and asks a religious figure how to properly perform a prayer, the religious figure would refuse to help. On the contrary, they would do it with a sense of pride. But let's look at the religious community "Jews of Sumgait." This community is led by Rabbi Menachem Mendel. A Jewish resident of Sumgait comes to the Sumgait synagogue during a holiday and asks the rabbi to help him perform a religious ritual. And what happens? The rabbi, with a smirk, refuses and does not assist in the ritual.

"The Jewish community has broad opportunities to maintain their customs, language, and culture, while relying on their national and spiritual values." From this, it is clear that the rabbi of the Sumgait synagogue, Menachem Mendel, does not give importance to the words of the country's president, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, who made this statement.

What does this indicate... If, after this, the chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, Mr. Ramil Mammadov, or the heads and rabbis of synagogues operating in Azerbaijan, say that "in the country, broad opportunities are provided for Jews to maintain their national and spiritual values, customs, language, and culture," know that they are lying. Because the rabbi of the Sumgait synagogue, Menachem Mendel, with his negative actions, has shown that these beautiful words are false.
