Mountain Jews are considered one of the most ancient and indigenous Jewish communities.

For more than 170 years, the Mountain Jewish community has made its incredible contribution to the construction of settlements and the development of the State of Israel.

In 1978, the All-Israeli Association of Mountain Jews from the Caucasus was created, headed by the respected Boris Shalmiev, author of the book “Prisoners of Salomansar”. On February 15, 2015, Pavel Moiseevich Elizarov was elected chairman of the organization. The main goal of his activities was to carry out the Association’s health program, as well as prepare for democratic elections by the end of 2015.

On December 1, 2015, a congress of the community of Caucasian Jews in Israel was held.

The new board included 7 chairmen of organizations and heads of 18 city communities, which represents 80% of the country's community leaders.

Over the past 40 years, the organization has had different times, but it is important to note that since the founding of the Association, tremendous work has been done and “Today I think it is important for us all to continue to unite our community in Israel and throughout the world,” said the newly elected chairman Pavel Elizarov .
